Description
Star Wars Obi-Wan (Xbox, 2001) CIB, Very Good
Star Wars: Obi-Wan (2001, Xbox) puts you in the boots — and Jedi robes — of a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi during the events leading up to The Phantom Menace. Developed and published by LucasArts as an Xbox exclusive, this game was all about lightsaber combat, Force powers, and battling across familiar prequel-era locations long before we had Disney+ shows filling in the gaps.
Released in December 2001, Obi-Wan uses the Xbox’s right stick for unique lightsaber controls, letting you slash, stab, and block with more precision than button-mashers of the time. While it wasn’t the most polished Star Wars game ever, it became a cult curiosity thanks to its experimental mechanics and focus on Jedi action.
Why this game is still worth adding to a collection:
- Xbox Exclusive: Never released on PS2, GameCube, or PC — only on the original Xbox.
- Unique Lightsaber System: Right-stick saber control made combat feel distinct (if a little clunky).
- Expanded Prequel Lore: Missions fleshed out Obi-Wan’s story beyond what was seen in the movie.
- Collector’s Appeal: A one-off Star Wars experiment that never got a sequel or remaster.
Star Wars: Obi-Wan for Xbox is a snapshot of early-2000s Star Wars gaming — ambitious, weird, and now a piece of Jedi history you can only play on the original hardware.
