Gravity won’t hold you back in “Gravity Rush” for the PlayStation Vita. Manipulate gravity to move between streets and walls as you fight to save a city. This title was directed by the renowned Keiichiro Toyama, who has also directed and written a number of other classic games. He brings his unique directorial style to this one-of-a-kind game. Toyama is also credited as being half of the writing team responsible for this title. As one of the first games on the Vita platform, it took full advantage of the system’s unique features. In “Gravity Rush” for the Vita, the protagonist, named Kat, is stricken with amnesia. To make matters worse, she has suddenly developed the ability to control gravity. However, she quickly turns this potential negative into a positive when monsters start to invade her city. When these monsters, called Nevi, terrorize citizens, Kat leaps into action. In this compelling story, players will discover the secret behind Kat’s powers and memory loss. This story is full of twists and turns, keeping players guessing at every step. On average, it will take most gamers around 10 hours to finish the campaign. However, if you are the type of gamer who aims for 100 percent completion, it might take up to around 18 hours. In the storyline, Kat uses her powers to fly through the air. You’ll control her abilities using the Vita’s unique control scheme. The gyroscope embedded in the system will let you twist and turn the console to guide the character on her path. The gyroscope also gives you the advantage of being able to react quickly to dangerous situations. In “Gravity Rush” for the Vita, you’ll gain new powers as the story progresses. Before long, you’ll be devastating multiple foes with powerful strikes and kicks. As you defeat enemies, you’ll upgrade your health, attack power, and speed. This combination of action gameplay and role-playing elements blends together quite seamlessly. The graphics are cel-shaded, so they resemble a cartoon. Character models have black outlines around them and move fluidly from location to location. Director Keiichiro Toyama used this art style to make the title stand out among other 3-D PS Vita games. He wanted this PlayStation Vita title to resemble a comic book come to life, and he definitely succeeded in that task. Toyama also strove to make his characters relatable to a vast audience. He did this both in the characters’ looks and in their personalities. The audio in this title is just as fantastic as the graphics. It was composed by Kohei Tanaka, who also worked on a number of other well-known game titles. This single-player game has a rating of T for Teen. This rating is due to fantasy violence, the use of alcohol, and mild suggestive themes. “Gravity Rush” is an original piece of software using concepts you don’t see in other titles. Because of this, it has gained a fervent fan following.
