Terminator Salvation (PlayStation 3, 2009) CIB, Very Good
Terminator Salvation (PlayStation 3, 2009) is what happens when Hollywood tries to make a video game and forgets to include the “fun” part. Set in the grim post-apocalyptic world of Skynet’s rise, this third-person shooter lets you blast robots across a very brown, very gritty wasteland. It’s not the worst movie tie-in out there… but let’s just say the machines weren’t the only thing lacking humanity.
You play as John Connor — not voiced by Christian Bale, because apparently the budget went to sunglasses and dust filters. Still, the gunplay is serviceable, the co-op is functional, and the whole thing wraps up before you have time to question your life choices. For collectors? It’s a piece of PS3 history. For everyone else? It’s popcorn gaming with a side of metal carnage.
- Cover-Based Combat: Snap to cover, pop out, blast metal — rinse and repeat until the credits roll.
- Two-Player Co-op: Bring a buddy and tag-team the robot uprising. Misery loves company, right?
- Short Campaign: You can finish this game faster than it takes to rewatch T2 — perfect for time-crunched gamers.
- Authentic Setting: Dust, debris, and death — it’s the bleak future James Cameron warned us about, minus the depth.
- Easy Platinum Trophy: Trophy hunters rejoice — this game practically hands them out like candy.
